2 The Left: A Tribute to the Life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes

What’s the Journey 2 The Left?

What up!?  Journey 2 The Left is a way for you to help bring the fully-staged PREMIERE of 2 The Left: A Tribute to the Life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes to Atlanta, GA this summer, August 1st – 11th.  The show was also recently selected to be part of the BorderLight International Theatre Festival in Cleveland, OH July 24th – 27th.  This summer is going to be LIT!  Along with the support of a recent artist grant from Atlanta’s Fulton County Arts & Culture Council your TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION will help mount this super cool, powerful, and timely show in the A! – the city where Lisa made her home—and the home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  Pretty cool; right!? Right!

What’s 2 The Left: A Tribute to the Life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes?

Dedicated 2 The Left In Us.

What would you fight for?

What would you live for?

What will your legacy be….

2 The Left is an inspiring, music-filled, multimedia experience chronicling the life and spiritual journey of Atlanta icon Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, the controversial member of the 90s pop music phenom TLC. The show reveals a young woman of color endeavoring to find her artistic voice and purpose, allowing the audience to take a glimpse behind the legend–and discover how her path may mirror our own.

“Kerisse’s play will, at last, let the world get to know the authentic Lisa Lopes, thus continuing her legacy and her message of maintaining a healthy body, mind, and soul.”

-Ronald Lopes, Lisa Lopes’ Brother

What has the journey been until now?

Writer and performer, Kerisse Hutchinson is a multi-talented award-winning actress, dancer, and writer who has graced the big and small screen and stages across the country and internationally.  She also founded the nonprofit GuiDANCE Autism, Inc.—Bringing the joy of dance to children with special needs www.GuiDANCEAutism.com  Using her gifts to make an impact on the community has consistently been of great importance to her. 2 The Left has been in development for ten years which included years of research, script development, interviews with Lisa’s family and friends, travels to Honduras (Lisa’s spiritual home) and Philadelphia (Lisa’s childhood home), and settling in Atlanta (Lisa’s artistic home). Most notably were its SOLD-OUT workshop performances last year as a WINNER of Synchronicity Theatre’s Stripped Bare Artist Incubator Lab.  Premiering the full production of the show in Atlanta will help serve as a launching pad to send the show to other theaters, cities, countries—and BROADWAY!

Sounds cool!  How can I join the Journey 2 The Left?

YAAAY!  Making a tax-deductible donation will help us reach our goal of $20,000 to mount this impactful spirit stirring show.  No donation is too small aaaand no donation is too BIG 😊

What will my funds be used for?

OK, I’m all in!  Now what?

Wrote a song about it.  Like to hear it?  Hear it goes: “WHAT ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS”!?  Tell a friend, call a friend, email a friend, text a friend, share it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter—help spread the word!  Then come out to the show and see the magical impact your gift helped create.

What’s in it for me?

Ah, now we’re talking!  2 The Left’s selection as a member of C4 Atlanta’s ArtsForce allows your donation to be fully tax deductible.  So your gift to the show—gives back to you!  Additionally, you will receive the following gifts influenced by Lisa’s songs and numerology philosophies (that won’t give you any problems with Uncle Sam when requesting your deduction 😉
