Spark is C4 Atlanta’s arts and entrepreneurship luncheon to celebrate Atlanta’s creative entrepreneurs.

C4 Atlanta is an award winning nonprofit, arts business incubator. C4 offers Atlanta’s creative community access to high quality, career development services.

Founded in 2010, C4 Atlanta serves over 1,200 arts professionals every year through workshops, fiscal sponsorship, coworking space, and advocacy. We believe that creative entrepreneurs help lead innovation and problem solving in our community. C4 Atlanta gives artist entrepreneurs the people, skills, and tools they need to be successful in Atlanta.

Keynote Speaker – Jamie Bennett, Artplace

Jamie Bennett is the executive director of ArtPlace America, a ten-year fund that supports enlisting artists as allies in building equitable, healthy, and sustainable communities.  To date, ArtPlace has invested more than $100 million in projects across communities of all sizes, as well as in research knowledge dissemination, and field building.

Previously, Jamie worked at the National Endowment for the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Columbia University, the Agnes Gund Foundation, The Museum of Modern Art, and the New York Philharmonic.

He lives, works, worships, and plays in Brooklyn, NY and has been sober since 2009.

Master of Ceremonies – Odetta Macleish-White

Odetta MacLeish-White is the Managing Director of the TransFormation Alliance, a partnership of nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses working strengthen communities through transit.  TFA’s work is driven by racial equity and seeks to partner with residents of impacted communities in shaping better health, climate, and economic outcomes through arts & culture-based community engagement, and by improving housing, transit and jobs access.

Prior to joining the TransFormation Alliance, Odetta was a Senior Program Director with Enterprise Community Partners in their Southeast market. Odetta has also served as a community development specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and was the staff director for Florida’s Affordable Housing Study Commission. She discovered her love for affordable housing while working for a developer in Gainesville, Florida. Odetta earned her juris doctorate and LLM in International Law from Duke University School of Law, and her bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature and Language from Harvard-Radcliffe University.

Artist Entrepreneur of the Year – Dan Flores

Dan Flores, aka @DeltaTangoMike is a 20 year art life veteran in 2D with digital and traditional mediums for illustrations and art installations working with brands like Coca Cola, GA Tech, Adobe, Cinamaker, Microsoft and Newell Brands.

Artist Champion (representative) – Katherine Dirga, MARTA Artbound

Katherine Dirga is an artist and public art specialist with 18 years’ experience in the field. After beginning her career at Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, MO, Katherine served as a manager of Atlanta Airport’s public art program, where she commissioned and implemented $3.5 million in large-scale artworks for the Maynard Jackson International Terminal, as well as curating various temporary exhibitions and a live music series. Katherine was brought to MARTA in late 2016 to develop an Art in Transit program: Artbound.

Katherine has a deep interest in community and was a founding curator of the Cabbagetown Art Wall, working with other local curators, artists, and the CSX Railroad. She served as founding Board Chair for Dashboard, an Atlanta-based, national curatorial team, leading the Board as the organization scaled from local and regional to national projects during her four-year tenure.

Katherine received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis, and her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Georgia State University. She is a member of Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta (ALMA) and has served on the Board and Advisory Councils for various local non-profits including Living Walls, Dashboard, and Cabbagetown Initiative CDC.

MARTA – Artbound  – An art-in-transit program comprised of permanent and temporary visual artworks as well as live music, theater, and dance presented in a transit environment.
