The Designer/Tech Meet & Greet is a unique opportunity for theatre designers, technicians, stage managers, and musicians to spend one on one time networking with Artistic Directors and Technical Directors from professional theatres across Atlanta and the Southeast. The Meet & Greet will take place from 1:00pm to 2:15pm on Monday, March 5th at the Southwest Performing Arts Center.

The Designer/Tech Application deadline has been extended to February 2, 2018.

Similar to speed dating, each accepted participant will be given 4 feet by 2 feet of table space to display or present materials related to your technical theatre profession. This can include scale models, portfolios, prompt books, resumes, business cards, etc. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide all materials for their table.

All designer/technical resumes and applications will  be submitted to ALL participating Unified theatres regardless of whether you’re accepted to participate at the in-person Meet & Greet.

Technicians, Designers, and post-graduate students will have different criteria for acceptance. Please thoroughly review the eligibility requirements below.


Consideration is given to applications submitted by any Designer, Technician, Stage Manager, or Musician who is 18 years or older as of February 1, 2018.

Recent college/university graduates who are 18 years and older as of February 1, 2018 may apply for the Unified’s Designer Meet & Greet using credits from school productions in order to meet the minimum resume criteria outlined below.

Please note that student/post-grad submission are for theatre technicians and designer majors from a college/university or qualifying conservatory program (post high school).

Requirements for Technicians, Stage Managers, and Musicians
  • Be a Basic Artist Member of C4 Atlanta. You can join or renew your membership when submitting the application.
  • Meet the minimum resume requirements of:
    1. have at least one (1) technical/professional stage production credit
    2. be formatted so that full, professional production SM, Technical, or Musician credits appear first. If applicable,  technical credits for TV/Film or other skills & educational experience can be listed after. Credits for TV/Film or other training program productions DO NOT qualify toward minimum credit requirements.
Requirements for Designers
    • Be an Individual Member of C4 Atlanta. You can join or renew your membership when submitting the application.
    • Meet the minimum resume requirements of:
      1. At least three (3) fully-staged design credits
      2. formatted so that full, professional design production credits appear first. If applicable, design credits for TV/Film or other skills & educational experience can be listed after. Credits for TV/Film or other training program productions DO NOT qualify toward minimum design credit requirements.
    • Meet the minimum portfolio requirements of:
      1. 3 to 10 digital portfolio slides which can include designs, renderings, or images of complete work
      2. Cover page with designer contact information including email and phone number
      3. submitted with the application as a PDF document
Requirements for Student Designers/Technicians
  • Has graduated or will be graduating with a technical or designer theatre or other similarly related degree after May 2016.
  • Be an Individual Member of C4 Atlanta. You can join or renew your membership when submitting the application.
  • Meet the Unified Audition minimum resume requirements of:
    1. Three (3) full stage design/technical production credits from a college or university production
    2. Formatted so that full production design/technical credits appear first. If applicable, full stage production credits may be followed by categories for TV/Film, readings, workshops, other technical related experience, or other skills & educational experience. Credits for TV/Film, readings, workshops, or other training program productions DO NOT qualify toward minimum credit requirements.
  • Submitted, signed PDF version of Student Credential Verification Form from your College/University Department Head verifying your college credits, and submitted with your application by January 5, 2017. This document can be downloaded and printed by clicking here.


  • The Designer Meet & Greet will be held at the Southwest Performance Art Center, which is accessible to all performers.
  • Digital acceptance letters will be distributed no later than January 20, 2018
  •  If you are selected to join the Designer Meet & Greet, you will be asked to bring your own supplies and materials for your display
  • If accepted you will be provided with:
      1. 4 feet of table to set up your “booth”. Please note you will be sharing a table with another designer/technician so please be aware of how many items you bring
      2. A nametag and name plate for the table
      3. It is highly encouraged that you bring resumes, business cards, and a single portfolio for display if available

Event Specifics
  • Unified Auditions: Auditions will take place from 10:00am to 4:45pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 and from 10:00am to 4:45pm on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
  • Unified Designer/Technician Meet & Greet: Attendance in the the Designer Meet and Greet is optional for all designers and technicians who apply. All resumes submitted will be provided to participating theatres regardless of attendance. The in-person Designer Meet will take place Monday, March 5th from 1:00pm to 2:15pm. Additional information can be found on the “Designer Meet & Greet” page.
  • ALL applicants are required to hold a C4 Atlanta Basic Artist Membership. Basic Artist Memberships are $40 for the year, and you can register for this membership during the application process. All memberships must be active through April 1, 2018. For individuals who paid for membership between November 2016 and February 2017 should renew their membership during the application process.
  • All applicants MUST meet the Unified’s minimum resume requirements. These requirements can be found in the “Resume” section of each application page.

Things to Note
  • Auditions will be held at Southwest Performing Arts Center, 915 New Hope Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30331, which is ADA compliant and physically accessible.
  •  Applicants will receive confirmation by email that their application has been received.   A CONFIRMATION OF RECEIVED APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE AN AUDITION SLOT.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications early, however the application process is NOT ‘first come – first serve’.  All completed applications received prior to the deadline that meet minimum requirements will be considered by the review committee.
  • Due to the volume of applications C4 Atlanta receives, any incomplete application submissions which do not follow provided guidelines will not be considered by the review committee and result in an automatic disqualification of your application.
  • Applicants with membership payment returned for insufficient funds are responsible for make good on payment plus a $25 administrative fee in order for the Basic Artist Membership to be processed & Unified applications to considered.
  • Applications received after the deadline of January 8, 2018 will NOT be considered under any circumstances.
  • It is your responsibility to notify C4 Atlanta in writing of any changes to your contact information.
  • It is your responsibility to notify C4 Atlanta in writing if you are not able to audition and wish to either withdraw your application (prior to deadline) or, if accepted, cancel your audition. Actors who do not notify C4 Atlanta of their cancellation are marked as “no show” and risk not being invited to audition the following year.
  • If you are selected to perform at the Unified Auditions, you will be asked to submit approximately 50 headshots/resumes by February 20, 2018. The exact number of headshots required will be included in your acceptance letter.  NO EXCEPTIONS will be made for late headshots. C4 Atlanta is not responsible for applications, notices or headshots lost/delayed by mail/delivery service.

  • New Location: The Atlanta Unified Auditions will now be held at the Southwest Arts Center Performance Theatre. This new location offers more room, a warm-up space, and convenient parking for all involved.
  • Expanded Designer Meet & Greet: Back at this years Atlanta Unifieds is the Designer Meet & Greet scheduled during lunch on the first day of Unified auditions. For anyone unable to attend the in-person Meet & Greet on Monday, March 27 from 1:00pm to 2:15pm your digital resume and portfolio submissions will be made available to ALL auditing theatres which participated. Now with a new host location C4 Atlanta will be able to expand this program to allow for a more comfortable, yet professional atmosphere in which designers, stage managers, technicians, musicians, etc. have the opportunity to network with representatives and auditors from theatres across Atlanta and the Southeast.
Payment and Membership Refund Policy

Full membership payment is required to along with completed application and resume submission to be considered. Membership fees are not refundable under any circumstances. For any artist who applies and isn’t accepted into an audition slot, please note that your resume and headshot will be made digitally available to all auditors and theatres who participated in Unifieds 2017. You will also be invited to visit with companies which offer Internship or Apprenticeship programs on second day of Unifieds. Additionally, you will maintain all additional benefits associated with C4 Atlanta’s Artist Membership.
